Auditions

The Westchester Symphonic Winds holds auditions periodically throughout the season, on an as-needed basis.

Players who would like to join the organization should contact the Personnel Manager, Katherine Filatov, at personnel@westchestersymphonicwinds.org.

Membership is available to musicians who are comfortable playing at the level of college/professional wind band music. Please provide your name, telephone number/email address, instrument, and a brief description of your playing experience.

At the audition, prospective members will be asked to demonstrate their musical proficiency and range. Please prepare one standard movement of the solo repertoire (concerto or sonata) to demonstrate technique, and one movement to demonstrate lyrical playing. Please bring three copies of your audition selections to share with the audition committee. Auditionees will also be asked to sight-read excerpts taken from the upcoming season's repertoire. Auditions will be scheduled in 10-15 minute slots, depending on the number of auditions to be heard.
